Boca Isles Park
Across the street from 252 SW 14th Place is Boca Isles Park, a 1.1-acre pocket park owned and maintained by the City of Boca Raton. It is where the neighborhood's children learn to ride bicycles, where dogs are walked in the evening, and where neighbors meet without planning to.
A pocket park
Boca Isles Park occupies a little over an acre at the heart of the neighborhood. It is a pocket park in the proper sense: not a destination, but a place that belongs to the streets around it. There is a playground for older children and a separate one for toddlers, picnic tables under the trees, a grill, and walking paths that loop the green.
Because the park is owned and maintained by the City of Boca Raton, it is kept to the city's parks standard at no cost to the neighborhood, and there is no association to manage it. It is open daily from 8 a.m. to sunset, with limited free parking for visitors, though most people who use it arrive on foot.
For a family relocating from New York, Connecticut or California, the park answers a question that is rarely asked out loud when touring waterfront homes: where do the children go? Here, the answer is across the street.
Particulars
Beyond the park
Boca Isles Park is the neighborhood's own green; the city's larger parks are close. South Beach Park and the public beach are about fifteen minutes by bicycle. Red Reef Park, with its oceanfront and the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center, and Spanish River Park lie a little farther north along A1A. Mizner Park's amphitheater and green are about fifteen minutes by bicycle as well.
The golf courses of The Boca Raton and Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club, each a few minutes away, are private; the park across the street is not.
Showings of 252 SW 14th Place begin at the front door and, weather permitting, end with a walk across the street.
